JBF Studios Max is seeking a student or graduate of a computer animation program to help develop Volt Galaxy Rescue, an animated sci-fi rescue adventure for children and families. Using Autodesk Maya, the intern will focus on developing stylized 3D characters and creating expressive character and facial animation for the project.

This internship is designed as a learning experience. The intern receives hands-on training, mentorship and regular feedback from the JBF Studios Max team, similar to a studio course, and works on assignments chosen for what they teach. The intern’s work supports the team and does not replace work done by paid staff.

We are glad to work with your school so the internship can count toward academic credit where your program allows it. The schedule is built around your classes and academic calendar, and the internship lasts one academic semester.

• Develop and refine Volt Galaxy Rescue characters from concept artwork.
• Create expressive facial animation, including dialogue, lip-sync, and emotional performances.
• Assist with facial rigs, blend shapes, and animation controls.
• Animate character poses and body movements that support facial performances.
• Incorporate creative feedback to improve character appeal and animation quality.

• Working knowledge of Autodesk Maya.
• Understanding of animation principles, facial expressions, and lip-sync.
• A portfolio or student reel demonstrating character or facial animation.
• Good communication, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

Nice to have: familiarity with character modeling, rigging, or blend shapes.

Pay. This is an unpaid internship with the potential to lead to a paid full-time position at JBF Studios Max, depending on performance, studio needs, and available funding. Future employment is not guaranteed.
